Chat in 3D on your desktop and make new friends – A cooperation between Microsoft and the start-up cooee GmbH makes that come true now!

Unterschleißheim / Kaiserslautern, 2. June 2010. The cooperation between Microsoft Germany and cooee GmbH, which is supported by Microsofts start up iniative BizSpark One and “unternimm was”, bears fruit: The start-up from Kaiserslautern now offers a free 3D meeting place for the German users of Windows Live Messenger. The users can create their own avatars and meet in a 3D world to get to know each other and party.

Party together in 3D on your desktop – from now on this is only a few clicks away for users of Windows Live Messenger. They just have to download the small client of Club Cooee the 3D chat community from the Live Messenger portal (http://messenger.live.de/Leute-treffen/Club-Cooee.aspx). Club Cooee integrates into the Microsoft WindowsTM desktop without surrounding program window and runs parallel to other applications. User can individually adapt the look and clothing of their own personal chat avatar. The digital alter ego then enters the 3D Live Messenger lobby where other users can be met. In the 3D chat room they can chat, dance, listen to music, watch videos, play games and much more. Apart from that each user can set up and decorate an own virtual home, turning it into a personal rich media chat environment by embedding music, videos and pictures.
Franz Maenz, Product Manager for Windows Live, explains the advantages of the cooperation between Microsoft and cooee. “With the 3D-meeting place of Club Cooee Windows Live Messenger users get a visual and entertaining environment to meet new people directly on top of their desktop. With a simple click they can add new friends to their own Windows Live network.”
